How to block specific characters being entered into free text fields

You might need to block users entering certain characters into your taxonomy when creating links, names or codes.

This is often the case when characters are being used as delimiters or aren't compatible in platforms upstream.

You can block one or more characters for each individual free text parameter in Track > Edit parameters rules

How to block (ban) specific characters (admins only):

1. Navigate to Track > Edit parameter rules
2. Click on the free text parameter to expand it and see its advanced options
3. Right of 'Blocked characters', click the pink edit notepad and pen icon
4. Enter the characters you want to block (one or multiple)
5. Click 'Update' to save.

Users who try to enter blocked characters into free text fields, won't and will receive a warning text explaining admin has blocked these characters, so please use others.
