Our campaign link creator is fully flexible and should work for any organisation regardless of parameters, link structure or analytics platform. We acknowledge setting up unique link structures can be tricky, so contact support@uplifter.ai for additional help.
Note: Only admins have permissions to edit the campaign link creator structure and settings.
Adding/removing values from a dropdown list
Admin users will need to add new parameter values (Sources, Medium and Campaigns) to the parameter dropdowns over time. Learn how to do this here.
To add a new dropdown value to a dropdown list:
1. Click on Track>Edit dropdowns in the left-hand navigation bar
2. Click on a parameter to see the current dropdown names and codes
Note: The 'Name' is what your Uplifter users will see in the dropdown input box, the 'Code' is what will be present in the campaign link. This allows you to use shorter codes in you campaign links
3. Click on the 'Add' button at the top of the list
4. Into the blank boxes type the dropdown name and code
5. Click 'Confirm' button on the right to save.

Master settings
You can edit options which affect every single parameter and link generated.
- Prefix is the first code that will be shown after the URL and in most cases is a '?'
- Separator is a common value which separates each parameter. This is usually '&' but may be blank if you are adding together multiple dropdowns into one parameter
- Parameter options is where you add, reorder, or delete your query string parameters
- Validation options is where you set what characters are allowed in your query string parameters
To add a new query parameter
Your organisation may have additional or different parameters (other than source, medium, campaign, term and content) you wish to add.
1. Click on Track>Edit parameters in the left-hand navigation bar
2. Click the 'Add' button to the right of Parameter title:
3. In the modal, type the parameter name as it will appear in Uplifter
4. Enter description which will explain what this parameter is to your users
5. (Optional) Add a prefix. This is the parameter name as you want it to appear in your campaign code URL, e.g. 'utm_campaign=' If you are concatenating parameters into one UTM you could put _ or - to separate parameters.
6. Choose if you want users to have to select a dropdown input managed by admin (good for governance) or allow them to write free text (good for self-serve)
7. Click 'Add parameter' to add it to your campaign link creator
To delete a parameter
Your organisation may need to delete parameters which are no longer useful. This will remove all your codes for this parameter permanently, contact us if you remove a parameter by mistake.
1. Click on Track>Edit parameters in the left-hand navigation bar
2. Click on 'more' arrow to expand the parameter you wish to delete
3. Click on the trash can button to the right of the parameter description
4. Click 'Yes' to confirm

These rules exist to make sure your campaign codes are readable, consistent, and functional. By default, best practice data validation is enforced. To turn off a rule, just uncheck the tick box next to it.
